Professional Profile
Neelam practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation. She is particularly drawn to litigation because it allows her to guide clients through challenging circumstances, helping them understand their legal options and work toward practical, effective resolutions.
Neelam approaches her practice with empathy, diligence, and a strong commitment to client service. Recognizing that individuals often seek legal counsel during stressful and uncertain times, she takes the time to listen carefully, communicate clearly, and provide thoughtful, responsive support tailored to each client’s circumstances.
Her interest in family law developed during her articles, where she gained firsthand experience assisting clients with personal and often emotionally complex legal matters. She values the opportunity to help clients navigate these issues with professionalism, compassion, and a solutions-focused approach.
Neelam was born and raised in Quesnel and came to Prince George to complete her undergraduate studies at the University of Northern British Columbia. After building strong ties to the community, she stayed in Prince George, completed her articles with HSJ Lawyers, and was pleased to join the firm as an associate.
While completing her law degree at Thompson Rivers University, Neelam developed her advocacy skills through moots and competitions, including the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition in San Diego. She also participated in an oral advocacy moot and volunteered with the South Asian Legal Clinic, where she contributed to remote grant-writing work.
Neelam has also written on diversity in law schools for the first edition of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, British Columbia Journal.
Neelam’s background also gives her a strong appreciation for the importance of being a voice for others. Neelam speaks Punjabi and is pleased to be able to assist Punjabi-speaking clients and members of Prince George’s growing South Asian community.

On A Personal Note
Neelam enjoys living in Northern B.C. and taking advantage of the nature and outdoor activities in and around Prince George. Outside of law, Neelam earned her first-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
