Gaurav was born and raised in Prince George. Gaurav is a graduate of D.P. Todd Secondary School and attended the College of New Caledonia before completing his studies at Simon Fraser University (B.B.A., M.B.A.) and at the University of Saskatchewan (J.D.) before returning to Prince George.
Gaurav worked as a summer student and then completed his Articling year with Hope Heinrich LLP before joining Heather Sadler Jenkins LLP as an associate lawyer. Gaurav was called to the British Columbia Bar in August of 2004 and became a partner at Heather Sadler Jenkins LLP in January 2010.
Gaurav's practice incorporates all areas of business law including but not limited to: corporate, commercial, real property, mortgages, wills & estates, employment law, residential conveyancing, commercial loans, and creditor's remedies.
Gaurav has been selected as one of Prince George's Top 40 under 40 outstanding entrepreneurs, managers, professionals and students for 2013 and again in 2014 by the Prince George Chamber of Commerce. Winners were chosen based on values such as professional achievements, experience, leadership, and community involvement.
Gaurav is very active in the Prince George community. Gaurav was appointed by an Order in Council to the Northern Health Authority Board of Directors on March 31, 2014 and is pleased to actively serve our community in that capacity. In December 2015, Gaurav was appointed Chair of the Governance and Management Relations Committee.
As a past president of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce Gaurav currently contributes to Chamber activity on the Board of Governors. Gaurav served on the Board of Directors for five years and was elected as the President of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber's centennial year in 2011.
Gaurav was a part time instructor within the School of Business at the University of Northern British Columbia for four years and has taught Business Law at the College of New Caledonia.
In his spare time Gaurav enjoys and engages in all kinds of sporting activities. As a member of the College of New Caledonia Varsity Basketball Team Gaurav was named as the top student athlete. He has been selected as an elite athlete to the British Columbia Provincial Basketball and Volleyball teams. Gaurav is an active participant in the Prince George Men's Basketball League and currently serves as the league commissioner.
