SANDRA STAATS

Sandra joined the team at HSJ in 2003. She was called to the Bar in 1994 and has practised in the areas of criminal, family and poverty law. She is also active in the community sitting on past boards of the Vancouver Multicultural Centre, the Urban Native Indian Education Society and the Northern Native Steering Committee for the Law Courts Education Society board. Sandra also served as the Dean of Student Services at the Native Education Centre for two years, which allowed her the opportunity to be part of the largest public art project in Western Canada. She would tell anyone considering a career in law to be determined, driven and tenacious and not let the word "can’t" stand in their way.
