JAN CHRISTIANSEN, Associate Counsel

Mr. Christiansen practises in the areas of insolvency, creditors' remedies and commercial litigation including shareholder and partnership disputes. He also acts as general counsel for a range of small to medium sized businesses. He guided the founding of the Yellowhead Road & Bridge group of employee owned companies, one of the largest road maintenance contractors in British Columbia, and continues to act for them. His clients include banks, small businesses and other lawyers.

Mr. Christiansen has been a director of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and the Prince George Regional Development Corporation; he prepared the founding by-laws of the Prince George Community Foundation and the initial by-laws of University of Northern British Columbia and helped the Prince George & District Elizabeth Fry Society prepare amendments to their by-laws.†† He has served as the President of the Cariboo Bar Association and is presently an elected member for the Cariboo on the council of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association. In 2000 he ran, unsuccessfully, for Parliament.
