Gaurav is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, The Law Society of British Columbia, and The Prince George Bar Association.

Gaurav enjoys teaching and from time to time ha acted as an instructor for courses at the University of Northern British Columbia within the School of Business including Business Ethics and Employment Law. Gaurav has instructed the Business Laws course at the College of New Caledonia. In addition, he has worked as a teaching assistant for courses in Business Law, Business Ethics, and Human Resource Management at Simon Fraser University.

Gaurav has strong roots in Prince George and is active in the community. Gaurav was born and raised in Prince George. He is a graduate of D.P. Todd Secondary School. Before transferring to Simon Fraser University, Gaurav was a member of the College of New Caledonia Varsity Basketball Team and was awarded as the top student athlete. He was also selected as an elite athlete to the British Columbia Provincial Basketball and Volleyball teams. Gaurav is interested in many things other than law. He enjoys and participates in all kinds of sports including basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Gaurav can be seen actively participating in the Prince George Men's Basketball league.

In his spare time, Gaurav has volunteered to coach High School Basketball at D.P. Todd Secondary School.
